#SIMPLE is SMART Like all good things come to an end, after two blissful years, we have neighbours on our floor now. Our adjoining apartment has been possessed (pun intended) and the possessors want the whole world to know about their new acquisition. The celebrations are planned for three straight days. For just a housewarming, it felt a bit too inordinate. Even weddings are just a day's ordeal now! Celebrating a special occasion with friends and family is misapprehended by most, to the extent where subtleness is totally ignored and superfluity is employed to satisfy the urge to feel superior. To see them make a spectacle of their wealth is as entertaining as Rahul Gandhi trying to prove that he knows what he is talking. I totally blame Karan Johar for setting such ridiculously high standards for our Indian weddings, which are risibly opulent already. #BeingYoung is not a child's play.. The fantasy that there is someone absolutely perfect for you somewhere out there in the real world is probably the very reason humanity hasn't gone extinct even after 200,000 years  of cumulative  experience of sapiens with life. While the fantasy comes true for a very small fraction of dreamers, the others are forced to wake up and smell the rotten reality. Going back to school after a long break gave me an opportunity to understand the present day's twenty-somethings and their constant fight with issues ranging from internet speed to finding love. Out of a wide range of requirements, two components seem to be necessary and sufficient for keeping themselves trendy and cool enough to achieve the approval of their peers. A don't care-attitude and being in a relation with someone. You Vs Life Pattern My mom simply wants me to fall in line with the belief system followed  by the majority, so as to avoid being on the receiving  end of  any “controversial” comments from the “near and dear”.  But whats the best way of telling her that I don’t want to be a sheep, without  having to receive the “I gave birth to you” reminder!!  The beauty of differences  is often underrated. Diversity is what makes this world an interesting place to be but it is seldom welcomed with an open mind. “Different” is often mistaken for “untrustworthy”. No matter how many betrayal stories of “similar”  are retold and relived, a promiscuous “similar” still seems to be a desirable choice over a promising “Different” .  So,  is it a wise choice to be miserable with yourself so that you can  be at peace with the world around you! An oversimplified example would be, picking friends based on their origin state or caste.  Centuries ...

#BharathAneNenu #Mahesh The new generation of directors and film makers are definitely giving a much awaited face lift to the telugu movie industry.  From movies that mostly glamorised ridiculous running around the trees and eloping for love,  to projecting a man's vision to change the living conditions in rural parts of the country(Sreemanthudu) and corruption in the urban parts, we have come a long and commendable way . Koratala Siva's Vision of change and a better state of affairs in the state, is very realistic and one that fills you with hope of a better future. The movie is not just a few theories from some fantasy land. He projected some very- possible and practical solutions towards a change. All we need is one person who can risk his career and life to take the lead and put them into implementation. I couldn't help compare it to Sekhar Kammula's  movie "Leader". It too was a political drama but that movie concentrated more on the problem rath...

I gave up and its nice not to care.  Anger , expectations and what people thought, I threw them all overboard.  The moments, the people and the words that I miss the most now must have been the best things of my life. I wish I had the chance to do it again. Just one more time.   Wish I could just stay quiet and listen to the concern behind their words when my family or friends lost their cool on me. Wish I hadn't expected people to not judge me. Wish I hadn't expected anyone to not talk behind my back. Wish I hadn't cared for anyone’s opinions. opinions are just words . They shouldn't matter because they don't define me. They only define the person who owns the opinions.  What defines me is what I see when I look into my eyes, in front of a mirror. If I can fall in love with that image, I deserve another day, another chance. If I can fall in love with something each day, just a little bit, I am alive and I am thankful. If I can see a smile on a face and hope...

#smilemore #Todayisfuture Little kids seem to be the only ones who enjoy their morning rides , to school. There are a couple of  exceptions though . If a guy is smiling even in heavy traffic , it means a girl is sitting behind him, on his bike. If a girl is smiling, it means,  her bestie is sitting behind her. Except for these few lucky souls,  I hardly find any happy faces on my morning drive to college. Life keeps throwing one tantrum after another, anyway. But is it necessary that we surrender with fear!! Makes me wonder, why doesn't a few years of experience with life, give the strength and confidence that you can handle anything that life throws at you now. What a waste is it to spend a decade of precious, beautiful life worrying about what might go wrong tomorrow, instead of enjoying and cherishing whats going right today. Whats even worse is, instead of regretting the wasted time and breaking the cycle of agony and fear, people start taking comfort in dismay ....
