#UglysideofEquality
#LadiesOnly

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies!!!
We asked to be treated equally and we got it . But are we able to handle the new found status and freedom with grace and humility? I have mixed feelings about it.

This morning, I heard, on FM radio,  a rather sad and disturbing story of a man, who was ragged in a bus. A group of girls  pulled on his hair, blew air into his ears and passed lewd comments. He admitted very boldly that it was quite scary and disturbing for him too. Unfortunately, people around him pushed it aside as a joke. He was helpless.  It must have taken him a lot of courage to come on the radio to tell his story, because, not only  will it not get him any sympathy, but on the contrary, he could become a laughing stock among his friends and colleagues. When a woman is teased or ragged, everyone is very comfortable and confident to make a big issue out of it, sometimes without even knowing both sides of the story. But when a man is mistreated, no one even feels bad  for him. Thats the ugly side of Equality.

While major part of the females are still struggling for their basic rights and freedom to live their lives, there is a section of our society where women are inebriated and high on their new found freedom, who want to do everything that men can, but, are sometimes confused about the concept of equality.

We were created to be equal which implies men are just as much human as women are. They(men) have their share of insecurities, fears, limitations and expectations too. But if every man is expected to be a superman, would there be any fun in watching the Marvels on-screen !

Ladies and girls...we are at the verge of losing our femininity in a greed for (a false notion of) "Equality". We wanted equality and they understood why. They are trying to change and undo all that they have seen and learnt from their fathers and grandfathers through out their growing up years . Lets appreciate it and not make them regret their decision. Push them too far and we will be back to where we started. If you think its time for payback, think again. Is it fair to punish them for what their predecessors did to our race? Not at all..

Don't get blurred on the difference between equality and domination. Yes, we have worked very hard and changed a lot over the last few decades but this change must have been equally difficult for them to adjust too. Yes, we have proved that we can do everything that they can, but theres absolutely no need to rub it in their faces.

Among the other mutual virtues, the one most basic and distinguished is that, they are physically stronger and we are emotionally stronger . So, I guess, Mr. Creator had a fairly good idea of what he was upto when His designs went for implementation. A finely balanced, equal and unique set of features were incorporated in each of His creations. But if we want to dress like them, talk like them and behave like them, we lose ourselves and our most sought-after, characteristic quality, our femininity.

  1. Sis you have touched a very sensitive topic and bound to ruffle some feathers as some may not agree with your thoughts. You have balanced out both the sides very well but as a society I think we still have a long way to go where equality is concerned. There are both -ves and +ves to it.
