#girlsTrip

I love the drive to my college on a Saturday morning. The traffic is much less than the usual and so, the air is fresher (well, comparatively) .  I can roll down my car window and  breathe in without worrying about how polluted it is, for a change. I can also let a flow of thoughts occupy my head without paying much attention to the mess on the road, which usually tests my patience level and brings it down by each passing day.

After I dropped off my kid at school and squeezed out a 'Thankyou with a smile' from him , I moved on with a bigger smile  and a sense of accomplishment , acquired from teaching him a little more on value of time and politeness. The Irony is , I woke up late but he had to learn the lesson. Oops!! Unless you are a parent, you wouldn't empathise with me on that. :o)) Well, I can only hope that my smile stays in his memories more than the hard lessons.

Happy thoughts took over and drifted me to a couple of weeks back . I was in the beautiful Nainital. I was accompanied by three smart, well accomplished and fiercely independent girls. Yes! I was on a girls trip. 'Amazing, inspiring and jealous ' is how an acquaintance expressed her feelings about our gals trip. Liberating, confidence-boosting and full of life is how I would explain it. I literally fell in love with life, all over again. Doing the things my heart says, letting my mind fly into zones that were never explored by me before, sharing each other's experiences,  learning new lessons from them, simply taking a moment to count all my blessings and being grateful for the same and realising how happiness can be derived from simple things of life,  all over again.

What can four girls,  from four different states and backgrounds and in four different stages of life possibly have in common!!!  Their fine thoughts, their love for life, their love for travel and a shared and unspoken love for their one most common ingredient, femininity. So, all it takes is one good friend and a few crazy friends to make life, lively and liveable.

You are lucky if you have found and kept at least one friend who knows you so well that he/she won't judge you no matter how silly or stupid you get at times and after every fight , its so easy to say sorry and put it all behind, like it never happened .
I have been lucky to find more than one such friend.
