A thing of beauty is a joy forever...
On my dear cousin Manisha's kind, encouraging words, I am back to writing. Thank you dear. I saw a beautiful movie after a long long time. You gotto see it to believe it.
Airlift..a story of the biggest evacuation in the history. Even with such lousy government officials, escapist-ministers and compassionless people of our country, I am proud to be an Indian, yet another time.

Sanjeev kohli of the movie, is the actual hero of the story, according to me. Even with his boring job and an unfit body, he still mustered all his stamina to receive and make some calls .Pun intended. On a serious note, he proved that he has a very fit spirit for his country though. His untiring efforts to put some sense into the minister of external affairs and his effortless reasoning to convince the commercial pilots were just too applaudable, if not very kick-ass style..
It was Akshay’s best performance so far or as far as I have seen. I was seriously getting sick of his so-called comedy movies, where, seeing him make a fool of himself, I personally felt “what a waste” it was, of his talent and looks. This movie could be a new beginning for his career. Going de-glam in this movie, Akshay looked at his best. The right amount of chemistry with Nimrat Kaur showed the maturity of the director, Raja Krishna Menon.
This movie proves that, it is very much possible to make a great movie even without a mushy love story, Emran Hashmi-style smooching, running-around the trees-duets, Item number ,designer clothes or even a glamorous Heroin.
When the Indian flag came up at the Iraq-Jordan border, I hope every Indian felt the same pride and zeal that I felt. It is a must watch if you want to realise the true meaning of life, yet again. Not the wealth you acquired, not the number of friends you add on Facebook, not the number of people you made jealous by showing off your designer stuff, not how much you spent on your kid’s birthday party, but, only the warmth and joy you carry in your heart, is what really keeps you happy.
👌keep going on radha

DeleteIt is based on bringing back the Indians to their motherland who were living in Kuwait while Iran invaded Kuwait. The 1990 airlift of Indians from Kuwait was carried out from 14 August to 11 October 1990 after the Invasion of Kuwait. Air India holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people evacuated by a civil airline as a result of this effort. The operation was carried out during the Persian Gulf War in 1990 to evacuate Indian expatriates from Kuwait and Iraq. It is believed to be the largest civilian evacuation in history.
ReplyDeleteBeing a so called third world country, with a struggling economy and with a crude oil supply crisis lurking at itself, the country carried out an unimaginable operation of Air Lifting and rescuing its 1,70,000 citizens from the war torn region by successfully negotiating with Saddam Hussain is a great achievement for the country and an eye opener for the so called First world countries.
The Gulf crisis struck India like a double-edged sword, bleeding the foreign exchange reserves by hiking the oil import bill and eventually slashing a huge chunk of NRI remittances.
It was yet another strong message by India to the world by showcasing strong will and capabilities in the hard times like this crisis.
